Keenan Law LLC, located in
Glastonbury, Connecticut is a solo
law practice that specializes in Elder Law, Estate Planning,
Special Needs Trusts and Probate Law. Every day I strive to
help each of my clients and their families achieve
peace-of-mind by providing them with uncommonly knowledgeable
and diligent legal services. Estate Planning
I strongly believe that each and every client, young or
old, has unique estate planning needs that are particular to
his or her own situation and I draft estate planning documents
accordingly. I ensure that my clients walk away secure in the
knowledge that a comprehensive approach has been taken in
preparing their documents and that the legal procedures for
the family will be as simplified as possible in the event of
death or incapacity.
Elder Law
As our population begins to age at an unprecedented rate,
issues such as long-term care, planning for incapacity,
eligibility for government benefits, asset protection and the
importance of updated estate planning documents will directly
affect more and more families. Seniors are faced with recent
changes in Medicaid laws that were both dramatic and
complicated. If any of these elder law
issues are a concern, then I can sit down with you and your
family members to discuss and examine all of the family’s
legal concerns, explain all of the options, the pro’s and
con’s of each option, and recommend a course of action.Special Needs Trusts
Establishing Special Needs
Trusts is an essential step for clients who want to leave
some or all of their estate to mentally or physically disabled
beneficiaries. These trusts are much more complicated than
general support trusts for minor children and the language
contained in such trusts must withstand the government’s close
scrutiny. In a coordinated effort with your financial advisor
I can apply my estate planning experience and my in-depth
understanding of government benefit programs to ensure that
your disabled beneficiary’s quality of life will be maximized
in the event that you can no longer provide him or her with
financial assistance.
Probate Law
Navigating your way through the Connecticut probate system can
be an intimidating and confusing experience for the
uninitiated. It helps to know that you can rely on an
experienced advocate through every step of the
probate process. If you have
been appointed as an Executor of a decedent’s estate or if you
are involved in, or wish to initiate a conservatorship matter
for an incapacitated family member then I can provide you with
the experienced guidance that you will need.
