National Teleconference on Special Needs Trusts and ABLE Accounts

Attorney Keenan will be the sole presenter for a teleconference titled “Special Needs Trusts vs. ABLE Act Accounts: Weighing the Pros and Cons” on March 3, 2020 from 2:00 to 3:30 pm EST. The teleconference will be presented by the National Business Institute and it will be broadcast nationally. The intended audience is attorneys, financial planners, accountants and other professional advisors.

Special Needs Trusts and ABLE accounts are both excellent planning tools for many clients with disabilities. However, there is a great deal of confusion over how these two tools work together.

Attorney Keenan will team up with Attorney Shelley Dowell, of Kentucky Elder Law, PC in Louisville, Kentucky and Strafford Publications to present a webinar titled “Medicaid Planning: When a Spouse Enters a Nursing Home” on December 11, 2019 from 1:00 to 2:30 EST. The webinar will be broadcast nationally and the intended audience is attorneys, financial planners, accountants and other professional advisors.

Older clients often encounter a situation where one of the spouses may need nursing home placement in the foreseeable future. This obviously triggers a great deal of stress for the entire family. One of the biggest sources of stress is confusion over the eligibility rules for Medicaid (Title 19) and what the best planning approach may be. This webinar will provide the information that advisors need to counsel clients through this difficult period.
